About Federage

A plain answer to one question: what is my federal retirement age? From a date of birth it shows the month you can first start Social Security, the month you reach full retirement age, the month you reach 70, your Medicare enrollment window around 65 and, for federal employees, the FERS minimum retirement age. It also shows the percentage of the benefit that starting early or late gives. It never shows dollars.

Who runs this site

Federage (federage.com) is operated by Anderson Gomes Ferreira. contato@federage.com

How it works

Every age, table and percentage is read from an official page (ssa.gov, medicare.gov or opm.gov) opened on the day shown beside it. The link, the day and the passage we read are on the page, next to the result, and in the list of rules on each page.

Anything we could not confirm is labelled “not confirmed” on screen and kept out of every date. For example, OPM’s page gives the FERS minimum retirement age by year of birth and says nothing about people born on the 1st of a month, so the site shows your birth date plus the age and tells you to confirm with your agency.

Social Security counts whole months and treats you as reaching an age on the day before your birthday. That rule gives the “born on the 1st counts as the month before” and “born on January 1 counts as the previous year” notes SSA prints. We checked our months and percentages against SSA’s own calculators for dozens of birth dates, including January 1, the 1st, the 2nd and the last day of a month, and February 29.

Dates are calendar arithmetic with no time of day and no time zone. The date of birth runs only in your browser: it is not sent to our servers, not stored and not put in the address.

Where the data and rules come from

How we keep the content up to date

Each rule shows the day it was checked (October 11, 2026). The pages are reviewed when the agency changes its table or its text; rules can also change by law at any time.

What this site is not

General information from official sources, not advice. It covers Social Security retirement benefits, Medicare enrollment timing and the FERS minimum retirement age under current law as published on the pages cited. It does not show any dollar amount, cover spouse, survivor, disability or special-category rules, or know your work record. Rules can change by law: confirm your dates with the Social Security Administration, Medicare or the Office of Personnel Management before you decide.
